About the Centre

Specialist knowledge. A shared commitment.

We believe that specialist therapy should be inclusive, respectful and accessible to people from different backgrounds and with different experiences of relationships, intimacy and sexuality.

Our story

Understanding people.
In the context of their lives.

The Centre began with a vision to bridge gaps in specialist relationship and psychosexual support.

Our founder, Tam, is a registered social worker with experience working with relationship issues, adoption and care experience. Alongside this professional experience, Tam trained as a relationship and psychosexual therapist.

This combination of social work, relationship and psychosexual expertise has shaped the Centre's approach: understanding the individual within the wider context of their relationships, experiences, identity and circumstances.

We believe that specialist therapy should be inclusive, respectful and accessible to people from different backgrounds and with different experiences of relationships, intimacy and sexuality.

Our aim is to bring together practitioners with complementary specialist skills so that clients can access the right support for their individual needs.

Our mission

Heard.
Respected.
Understood.

Our mission is to provide high-quality psychosexual and relationship therapy in a space where people feel heard, respected and understood.

  • Provide specialist support for psychosexual and relationship concerns.
  • Offer therapy that is inclusive of different cultures, identities and relationship experiences.
  • Recognise the impact that trauma, life experiences and relationships can have on intimacy and sexual wellbeing.
  • Support individuals and couples without judgement.
  • Bring together therapists with different professional backgrounds and areas of expertise.
  • Help clients develop greater understanding, communication, confidence and connection.
  • Offer inclusive therapy that is sensitive to adoption, care experience and interracial experiences.

Our team

Complementary experience.
Individual understanding.

Our therapists come from a range of professional backgrounds, including psychology, social work, counselling, psychosexual therapy and relationship therapy.

We understand that there is no single definition of a healthy relationship or intimate life. Our therapists work collaboratively with you to understand your individual circumstances and goals.

How we work

At your pace.
Alongside you.

Starting therapy can feel daunting, particularly when the subject involves sex, intimacy or relationship difficulties.

We aim to make the process as comfortable and straightforward as possible.

Therapy begins with understanding what has brought you to us and what you would like to change. Your therapist will work with you to explore your concerns at a pace that feels appropriate.

Depending on your needs, therapy may focus on areas such as communication, intimacy, sexual difficulties, relationship patterns, emotional connection, confidence, past experiences or other factors affecting your relationships.

Our approach is collaborative. Rather than telling you what you should do, we work alongside you to develop greater understanding and identify practical ways forward.

Individual therapy

Individual psychosexual or relationship therapy can provide a confidential space to explore personal concerns, sexual wellbeing, relationship experiences and difficulties that may be affecting your life.

Couples & relationship therapy

We work with couples and people in a range of relationships to explore communication, intimacy, conflict, connection and other relationship concerns.

Inclusive practice

We welcome people from diverse cultural, sexual and relationship backgrounds. We recognise that relationships can take many forms and aim to provide therapy that respects your identity, values and lived experience.
